Biografía

Dr. Christoph P. Kiefer is a Permanent Senior Research Fellow at Institute of Public Policies and Goods (IPP) at Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC) since 2024. Previously, he held positions as Senior Researcher at Fraunhofer Institute of Systems and Innovation Research (ISI), as postdoctoral researcher at IPP-CSIC, and as lecturer (profesor asociado) at the Department of Economics at University Carlos III of Madrid (UC3M). He obtained his doctoral degree in Firm Economics by the University of Alcalá (UAH) in 2017.

Dr. Kiefer´s research centers around the issues of sustainability and sustainability transitions at the micro-level of firms, adopting a corporate environmental economics perspective. Specifically, his research focuses on the development of sustainable innovations in firms and the innovation-based transition towards the Circular Economy; as well as on renewable energy technologies, systems, and policy, for the energy transition.

In the past, Dr. Kiefer has actively contributed to numerous research projects within the Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe framework, as well as to numerous research projects for the European Commission (DG Ener), the German and Spanish Governments, as well as for Think Tanks and private corporations. Some of these projects are:

Dr. Kiefer has published over 25 peer-reviewed articles in international journals, 4 books and book chapters, 20 project reports and policy briefs, as well as a number of science divulgation articles in press.
