Biografía

Lucrecia Rubio Grundell is a Ramón y Cajal Research Fellow at the IPP-CSIC. She holds a PhD in political and social sciences from the European University Institute in Florence (2018). Her thesis, "The dynamics of securitization and desecuritization of European Union policies against trafficking in women for sexual exploitation," was nominated for the Joni Lovendiski Prize for the best thesis on gender and politics in 2021 and was recently published by Palgrave Macmillan under the title Security Meets Gender Equality in the EU (2023).

She has been a MSCA-COFOUND-UNA4CAREER postdoctoral researcher at the Complutense University of Madrid, with her project entitled "Opposition to Gender+ Equality in Europe and the role of the EU: A Case Study Analysis (OppGen+EU)", and a postdoctoral researcher on the H2020 Project "Gender-based violence and institutional responses: Building a knowledge base and operational tools to make universities and research organizations safe (UniSAFE) 2021-2024". She has also been a postdoctoral researcher at the Free University of Brussels, participating in a project on European values ​​(ValEUR), at the International University of Andalusia, in the project "De-democratization, Gender + Equality and the Politics of Exclusion in the European Union," funded by an Erasmus + Jean Monnet Action Project Grant, and at the Autonomous University of Madrid, in a project entitled "Women on the move and their right to a life free from violence and discrimination: recommendations for a Madrid municipal policy with a human rights, gender, and intersectionality approach," funded by the Madrid City Council.

She has also worked as a national expert for the European Commission's Directorate-General for Justice on the study on the adequacy review of EU legislation on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence. for the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE) for the development of a conceptual and measurement framework for the collection of indicators on institutional mechanisms for gender mainstreaming (Area H of the BPfA) and for the H2020 Project "Certification-Award Systems to Promote Gender Equality in Research (CASPER) 2020-2021".

Her research interests revolve around human rights, gender, intersectionality, migration, sex work, anti-gender politics, and intra-feminist debates, topics on which she has published in journals such as the European Journal of Women Studies, Social Politics, European Journal of Politics and Gender, and Comparative European Politics.
