The research group "Citizens and Institutions" is focused in the analysis of citizens' attitudes and behaviour and its relationship with democratic institutions both in Spain and internationally. In the context of the recent global economic crisis and the structural transformations that our societies are experiencing (technological change, globalisation of productive processes, increasing inequality, ...) we are particularly interested in the analysis of processes of disaffection between citizens and institutions, the new social demands and political identities that are largely a product of these processes, as well as in the possible dynamics of transformation and evolution of domestic and supranational institutions.
